SEIKOSHA Marble Mantlepiece clock. SEIKOSHA Seiko = Exquisite, Sha = House. Unlike many of the marble Seikosha clocks, this one doesn’t have sharp, blocky coloured slabs. This one has smooth lines and a single colourthroughout. Vanilla shot through with caramel if you want to getflavoursome. I also didn’t crack the case soas not tointroduce moisture. It is very easy to remove the casement as itis not integral to the body. It goes straight through the stone. If one day you have to replace the heart witha quartz digital movement, it will take minutes. This clock not only tells the time, it alsotells a story. Today, after more than 130 years ofinnovation, Kintaro Hattori’s company is still dedicated to the perfection thatthe founder always strove to achieve. On the following pages you can explore Seiko’s long history and see many of our landmark watches. The story of Seikobegan in 1881, when a 21 year old entrepreneur, Kintaro Hattori, opened a shopselling and repairing watches and clocks in central Tokyo. Just eleven yearslater, in 1892, he established the’Seikosha’ factory. Seikosha was founded; started producing wallclocks. In 1892 Kintaro Hattori bought a disusedfactory in Tokyo and Seikosha was formed (In Japanese, “Seiko” means”exquisite”, “minute” or “success” and”sha” means house). It was here that Kintaro Hattori produced hisfirst clocks and these marked the beginnings of a company that was to becomeone of the world’s most important manufacturers of timepieces. Made in Japan, it boasts an Art Deco style and is the perfect addition to any collector’s display. The clock has a mechanical movement powered by a spring and has a multicoloured marble finish. This clock is in perfect time and has a chime sequence of none, making it ideal for those who prefer a quiet environment. Aspects such as the clock’s brand, type, material, and country of origin are all included in the listing for your convenience. Don’t miss out on this unique and beautiful piece of decorative collectable.
